DEAR ABBY: I'm a senior (girl) in high school and have been dating a sophomore even though he's less than a year younger than I am.(I'm very young for my grade.) We have a lot in common and I think we both love each other a lot.So, this may start some controversy, but I'm intrigued by what other people's response to this question is (sorry if it's a double post)First off, I'm going to say that I am not planning on making any moves or anything by asking this question and seeing the responses, because I'm uneasy about age differences. Okay, so a girl who is a junior in highschool started talking with me today. Living in the area in which I do, she has a lot of the same interests that I do, which is rare in any girl up here.I'm one of those people who feels really bad if I ignore someone, so I talked with her. We both play music, listen to the same genre and so on. But, she's in highschool, so no." Again, I'm not implying that I want to go after her, or anything. What do you think of guys going after girls that are 4 years younger than them? When it comes to the definition of dating on college campuses, hooking up is typically much more common.
But, what if the guy had a really good head on his shoulders, was respectful and so on.
But just know that soon she will be in college and want to explore so the relationship might not last. I love this guy who's 5 years older than me and he loves me back. If you still have questions just ask I am a mom and a very protective one,my 3 sons are very protective of their sister,so with that in mind if an older man wants to date my very young daughter..better not touch her.
You will be entering the work force and may meet all the new girls coming in to work and the old ones. But really, when I said I wasn't interested in her I really am not haha. my experience is that I could've but didn't, way back when... a couple of years makes a big difference developmentally whereas at my age (40) a 5 or even ten year gap, sometimes you find there's little difference. I am strictly against college guys dating lil gals in high school..not legal to date a minor and even though my daughter is in college now if a man in his 20's started having an interest in her when she was still in high school..well,her brothers are big guys who don't need anyone messing with their dear sister.
Prom season is in full swing, and high school students across the country have been spending the last few months absorbed with the latest trend to hit the hallways: “promposals,” a word used to refer to extravagant (and often public) prom asks.
Whereas the stereotypical prom used to revolve around getting laid, 21st century teenagers seem much more absorbed with when and where their asks are happening.
